A well-to-do girl runs away with a lower class individual but is brought home only to become involved in murder. Years pass and the girl builds a large business empire thanks to an inheritance. Loads of drama ensues and things get even more complicated as time goes on.

Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, and Lizabeth Scott.
Also features Kirk Douglas making his film debut.
