A millionaire’s boredom leads to a bet that he can get a regular job and support himself for a year. Fun and romance ensues as the man attempts to enter the working class.
Starring Cary Grant, Mary Brian, and Peter Gawthorne.
Directed by Alfred Zeisler.
This movie was based on a novel titled, The Amazing Quest of Mr. Ernest Bliss, by E. Phillips Oppenheim. The story was then adapted for the screen by John L. Balderston.
Alternate US title: Riches and Romance.
I could not find a copyright notice neither in the opening nor the closing credits of the film. Additionally, I could not find a formal copyright registration in the US Catalog of Copyright Entries for 1936 through 1937. IMDB.com claims that the movie was released in 1937 which would mean that its copyright would expire in 1965 or thereabouts. Again, there appears to be no effort to renew the copyright of this movie since the Catalog of Copyright Entries for 1960-1969 shows no entry for this title or its alternates.
Based on my research, I believe that The Amazing Adventure is in the public domain. Archive.org also lists this movie as such.
